Marriage Requires Cleanliness: Fornication Disallowed
1 Cor. 6:15 Know ye not that your bodies are the members of Christ? shall I then take the members of Christ, and make them the members of an harlot? God forbid. Christians belong to Christ and are members of His body. When Christians marry, they must make female chastity an issue so as to keep the man and woman (members) within the realm of sexual purity. An unclean woman cannot fit into a pure, potential class of members looking for a marriage partner. A formerly promiscuous woman (regardless of choice, seduction or rape) or a whore is physically and spiritually an unclean woman due to her sexual experiences with more than one living man. Becoming saved does not erase a female's sexual history. She may be forgiven her sins, but her physical defilement does not and cannot equate virgin status or chastity. So a man that is eligible for marriage must not marry an unclean woman because it would make a polluted marriage. The male should consider every aspect of cleanliness so as it would not be violated before making a dowry agreement. The “Take the sin unto glory” success theme is a lie! The voices of apostasy are everywhere today. Joyce Meyer, a popularity example, gives false security to the unlearned and deceived. She promotes fornication among other heresies. If she were a decent Christian she would be able to give a clean example of her sex life before marriage and be able to explain her cleanliness (if she had it!) before others. She does not do that at all. A defiled woman may be a consequence through choice, seduction or rape. Remaining single afterward is the appropriate resolution if she does not marry the man who defiled her. (According to official dowry, that decision should be made by the father or spiritual guardian of the female. We have a need to educate fathers and mothers so they can direct their children properly. Christian communities should be great gardens for learning.) Many antagonists and gainsayers have resisted the cleanliness virtue by mentioning Hosea or Jeremiah or other verses, but without biblical proof and conviction. The New Testament (the better covenant) is authoritative. The Apostle Paul makes the sexual and physical cleanliness virtue clear by denouncing the uniting with a harlot.
