Giving Vengeance to God: A Christian Source of Power

We have to live with wrongs done against us and others. There is no way around it in a fallen world. Vengeance is a natural emotion. A wrong needs to be corrected. However, a Christian allows this work to be done by God himself. The Christian does not tolerate hate and unwarranted retribution; he or she applies principles of love of God and others (including enemies), and obedience instead. We must not interfere in God's work of vengeance: Avenge not yourselves. GOD WILL REPAY THE EVIL “Dearly beloved, avenge not yourselves, but rather give place unto wrath: for it is written, Vengeance is mine; I will repay, saith the Lord.” (Rom.12:19) God knows how to take care of the situation much better than we do. Nevertheless, we should have a readiness to revenge all disobedience. It is good for us to realize that sin will be repaid and that we can help society by condemning evil (I Cor. 6:2) and loving and approving good. CHRISTIANS SHOULD MAKE PROPER JUDGMENT “Do ye not know that the saints shall judge the world? and if the world shall be judged by you, are ye unworthy to judge the smallest matters? ” (I Cor. 6:2) HAVING A READINESS TO REVENGE ALL DISOBEDIENCE Of course, a person may have to think upon what God would have them to do instead of depending on human reason alone after considering the corruption and harm done. This takes seeking and listening to God, which may be learned through studying the Bible. "For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war after the flesh: (for the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds;) casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ; and having in readiness to revenge all disobedience, when your obedience is fulfilled." (II Cor. 10:3-6) Perhaps, some Christians may develop themselves through secular studies such as law also. The state has a responsibility to avenge the wicked. Unfortunately, we live in the apostasy and do not have good American law like we used to.
