Endless Genealogies (I Timothy 1:4)
“Neither give heed to fables and endless genealogies, which minister questions, rather than godly edifying which is in faith: so do.”
Generally, we know fables are not true. As to genealogy, we are given true accounts of the genealogy of Jesus Christ our Lord in the first chapter of the first book of the New Testament. We are given other important genealogies throughout the Old Testament. We know the genealogy of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, and many other very important lineages. These are genealogies that we must understand, they are not “endless” genealogies that the apostle is talking about in this verse.
Genealogy is a tool. It helps us not be deceived by those contradicting the Torah. Science and the written word work together. Many modern pastors and activists implicitly accept the myth (fable) that a matrilineal lineage can sustain a Hebrew subrace such as the Jews... but it is genetically and genealogically impossible.
