Written with the dot on the top right—vs. 165 |
2 spaces from left down stroke which should extend below the line. |
The tsawdi may have more of an “s” sound than the recording |
Pro-nounced “p” with a dagesh |
“noon” |
This is the tallest letter. The top stroke is above the gereral line or height of the other letters |
Yud: Small stroke from top left to top right, then small stroke downward |
The top of the dalet should extend the down stroke—2 strokes, not one--the video failed to point this out! |

Seen is the same structure only its dot is on the top left |
Quf: Stroke from top left to top right, go down about half way, and slant your line toward the bottom left of the line but leave a space. Then leave a space at the top left and draw your line down past the bottom line. You should have 2 spaces and the letter should extend below the bottom line. My example is poor and does not show the spaces or extending of the bottom line as it should. |
Stroke from top left to bottom right curves toward the bottom a little. The shorter stroke from the top right goes about ¾ down toward the left bottom. |
First down-stroke from top right down to the bottom left goes almost to the bottom.
Notice in v. 90 the bottom of the lawmed is even with the dalet and other letters generally. My poor example extends a little far down.
Tet: Two strokes: top right should begin near the middle top, go up, then curve all way down to bottom left. Left top should be to the left of the left bottom.
Top stroke extends the left down stroke |
Slanted top stroke |
Has a short top stroke |
Notice the space at the top left |
Excuse my poor proportions: Bet should be the same height as the aleph and the gimel. You must use your own books to be correct. See how nice and even the general height of most of the letters are! |

See 3rd word in v. 19. Down-stroke goes beyond bottom line. |
See 5th word at Ps. 120.3. Down stroke extends beyound bottom line. |
See end of 2nd word in v. 100. The down stroke goes below the line. |
See end of 5th word in v. 97. |
Two strokes: the down stroke goes below the line level of the normal letters. Kaph sofit is seen at the end of the second word in v. 8v. “Sofit” refers to the end.
