Textual Criticism: The Greek Septuagint is a great resource for comparison at times, but it differs at times also. Vav conversive (aka vav consecutive): The KJV translates the verse as such with 1st person, imperfect; however, a particular Greek edition translates its own text as 3rd person, as if “my soul” is the subject of both verbs. The THE ANALYTICAL HEBREW AND CHALDEE LEXICON describes o'ha'vaym as 1st person also. |
