Eternity in Torment!
Many people will suffer torment in eternity. The righteous and believing in Christ will be blessed (but will suffer loss of some potential rewards on account of sins) for ever in the presence of God and the saints. Those that are blessed have particular attributes: They believe (see Jude, verse 5) in God's message to mankind and have reverence (fear) for the Lord. They have a will to serve Him. We see many today who do not have these attributes, and perhaps we can show compassion and fear (Jude, verse 22 and 23) unto them and help them change their ways before it is too late.
We live in a time when false religions are widespread. From what I've read, some Muslims think they will receive seventy-two virgins for death through sabotage—what a lie Satan has promoted among them—delusion and madness! Watchtower people go around visiting potential clients when they are condemned themselves for their not believing in the Lord Jesus Christ—they deny his deity. Hinduism and Buddism deceive much of the world. Roman Catholicism has had a great part in organized religious finance, not awakening the deadness of many of its people. They are guilty of distortion and misleading people. Protestantism has promoted fornication and other sins. Ignorance justifies nothing; it is a sign of unbelief. Only belief in the Son of God can save.
Dying is not so bad if you know the person is well with the Lord, but if the person (he or she) is living in terrible sin and dies... even thinking about the person could spend eternity in torment is so painful! Help people get their life on track with God.
God sent his own son (Jesus the Christ) to die for our sins so that we could be saved through believing in him. |
