I Corinthians 7

38 So then he that giveth her in marriage doeth well; but he that giveth her not in marriage doeth better. 1
The father who can discuss with his daughter and they both agree upon the goodness of her remaining single is rare but recommended these days. Males and females as virgins in the New Testament were supposed to be in a good way. (1 Cor. 7: 25, 26) Some virgins and clean women do not marry as the daughter of Jephthah (Judges 11:1), whose marital potential and life was changed by the decision of her father: “she knew no man” (Judges 11:39), and some by the daughter's own decision after speaking with her father.
Posterity is in the hands of a paternal parent. The father that gives his daughter in marriage does well; but the one that does not give her in marriage does better. Spiritual inheritance is valued above physical inheritance.
