WHERE IS THE KISS

I Peter 5:14 Greet ye one another with a kiss of charity. Peace be with you all that are in Christ Jesus. Amen.

Where is the kiss? There seems to be an indifference toward oscular endearment. God has not changed, yet religious culture has evolved less intimate.

I believe the Bible exemplifies Christian communication verbally and physically. We have many opportunities for personal contact; if we follow holy teaching we will not only strengthen our bond of fellowship, but deter unwholesome fondnesses which derive from corruptible lust, such as unlawful sexual temptations, temptations of strikings, and so forth.

Humility is essential in Christian personal touch. The handshake is common, and this gesture of love is friendly, though it can hardly suffice the fullness of a kiss.
