The disrespect for an addict is rational because very few really make it, relapse seems to be just a lust away. However, as an ex-addict, I believe every addict could make it with detox and a 2-year low cost program among ex-addicts volunteering as officials and employees. Ex-addicts carry a lifetime death or prison sentence: it is 24/7/round-the-clock. As long as they do not take the first hit, they don't need the second. The monkey-on-the-back effect becomes void through resistance and positive growth, setting a sober brain pattern. If state help supported such low-cost programs, and those taken off the street were allowed such rehabilitation, it would also be a benefit to society by cleaning up the horrible, gloomy existence that working people and honorable citizens have to realize. Our once beautiful cities have become like dumps, no patriot and constructive person would condone it. Thank God, America is beginning to be somewhat restored! Leavitt's said program seems to be perfect. Addicts and the mentally ill can't be left to heal themselves. Criminals deserve jail. Links: Chemical Dependency: What You Need To Know |
