Charles Stanley's Background Doesn't Pass the Morality Test

Frankly, there are some things that Charles Stanley had been involved with that I don't think he is worth looking to for deep, theological answers. However, he does make a good point in this video. He is also a great speaker and teacher in many ways. He seems like a very nice man. However, he has

been associated with the Southern Baptist Church, which condones legalized adultery and continuous sin. This is a horrible sin and should not be heard of among Christians. They actually tolerate divorce with scrutiny in some cases while concurrently remarriage runs rampant among their members. That disgraceful and dishonoring church also has the audacity to tell people to the effect their pastors can tell you what biblical marriage is instead of what the Bible says marriage is. They are like the blind that lead the blind. I exposed this sin of condonation of remarriage well in the Mr. Donnie Swaggart expose. One thing about adultery is that it was sin under the death penalty, even as murder, in the Old Testament. Just because the New Testament came along does not justify it or moral degeneration under any conditions.

From reports I read on the Internet, Mr. Stanley did divorce but I have nothing against a Christian/unbeliever divorce if it can't be prevented. I can't imagine a Christian husband and wife who are seeking peace with God ethically divorcing permanently unless on account of fornication. I go into this in my sermon Illusion. I really don't know his personal circumstances and am not enthused about looking into them at this time. I can give a brief overlook of him without it. I would not willfully eat or associate with such a Christianity professing person who condones legalized adultery.

He is definitely a book seller. My personal belief is that a Christian should not sell biblical material, especially upon dependence of a worldly book publishing company. I also believe if people give for the right reasons, they will not make heretics nor wealth-motivated unbelievers rich. Do not misunderstand me, I believe the workman is worthy of his hire.

We live in the apostasy. You do not see many pastors and teachers on target with God today. Our society has been destroyed in the last century, very noticeably and especially with the behind-the-curtain political leadership (and seemingly dynasty) that sprang up before 1913. My advice to a person wanting to get in touch with God and grow spiritually would be to study the Psalms. Take notice how King David (dawveed hameleck) sought God's direction, how he guarded his law and testimonies, how he fellowshipped with the Lord... reminding him of his servant's (David's) reverence, sincerity and integrity, how he confessed (Ps. 51) his sins when he made mistakes, how he praised God for his greatness and blessings. Study the gospels. Jesus' teachings were (and are!) powerful.

So, I will close by saying that Charles Stanley has some good things but since he has not spoken out against the sins of the churches that he was affiliated with, as many homes have lived in sin and their posterity has suffered, as many lost souls have died and were even possibly misled by such degeneration and erroneous teachings of corrupt churches, he surely hasn't earned the admiration and respect that a righteous and selfless man of God does, who sounds the trumpet and spares not.
