Integrity is an essential element of leadership. The Apostle Paul had integrity. Moses had integrity. Elijah had integrity. Great people for God have integrity. They do what they are taught is right. The Apostle Paul did not compromise chastity with remarriage condonation and fornication. He did not approve of women teaching men. Early Christian leaders did not promote partial nakedness, low neck lines with cleavage and lewdness of dress. They were role models and did as they were taught of God, not of men, not of the financially prosperous or trendy. Parents must be role models to their children, having integrity also. Putting God first and obedience to His commandments is an example to all. However, we live in a day when heresy is rampant and integrity is lacking in parental leadership. Even some separatist groups become tolerant to sin. Children need to look unto the written word, the Bible, as the authoritative example. We all have a battle of integrity against perversion. Repenting of sins is a great start for personal development. Nevertheless, quitting drugs and alcohol abuse may not be enough. Putting away particular sins of the flesh alone may not be enough. God expects faith and obedience in all things. He wants us to love one another, and we demonstrate this through the way we treat our brethren, not holding on to any sin or personal agenda in conflict with God. Links: |
