REPENTANCE AND FORGIVENESS:

YOUR LIFE STILL GOES ON

'Son of Sam' (David Berkowitz) Full Jailhouse Interview, Aug 1, 2017, Inside Edition

So many people today are not repenting. 'Son of Sam' repented from his murders, but people we meet in church gatherings or Internet conversations are not repenting of their illegitimate relationships. Murder (or complicity) is a horrible sin. Fornication is a horrible sin. Adultery is a horrible sin. Theft is a horrible sin. Repetitious drug abuse is a horrible sin. If a person can repent of murdering, is it too much to think a person can quit their sexual immorality? Repentant mobsters, villians and sexual debauchers can become members and participants of the church (having and using gifts), perhaps with even satellite ministries, but they will never be able to lose their bad reputation for willful misconduct against the knowledge of God (and his institutions) so as to be without reproach and an official of the local church.

Sin not only brings death, it brings God's punishment/judgment and causes loss of opportunity. The US has lost its way and polluted many of its former geo-political and religious values. However, many in the churches, some even unworthy, officials, today have not fully repented of their fornications and adulteries. “For the time is come that judgment must begin at the house of God: and if it first begin at us, what shall the end be of them that obey not the gospel of God?” (1 Peter 4:17) Is it that the deceived are not looking unto the law of God for guidance! (I Timothy 1:8)
