Equal Yoke: Picking The Right Mate

Before the great flood, the earth was becoming populated. God made mankind, and the species grew very attractive. Deoxyribonucleic acid (DNA) molecules had an effect on the birth of generations as they do today. (It is interesting to note how fire mentioned in the book of Enoch is used speaking of the composition of angels and comparing it with the photon in its use of molecule development.) Culture has an effect on inheritance also. There were men of good religious practices who revered God, and contrarily, those who disregarded God, following their own lusts.

There were men of faith who some may think of as “sons of God” contrasted with those who were not. However, my perception of this term is fallen angels, but until God gives me further confidence I will try to understand it the best I can and attempt to bring more light to the subject as time goes on.

Some men were very wicked perhaps even as Cain, who killed Abel. Perhaps there was also mixing of those who followed God and the daughters of those who didn't as it happens today sometimes: The good men who revered God saw how beautiful the daughters of men were, even though they may have been wicked and lacking selflessness (good people will put God's desires before the desires of themselves), and married them anyway. If this was the case, it was an unequal yoke. A righteous man and an unbelieving woman are not an equal yoke whether the woman is physically beautiful or not. Nevertheless, considering the context, fallen angels and daughters of men were definitely a much more horrible yoke... it seems the immortal-mortal combination changed their genetic ability and they produced giants. On the former part from the perspective of mortal-mortal (fallen priestly men with women) and taking the word nephalim to mean violent men instead of giants, it still would be a horrible partnership.

GOOD LOOKING WOMEN

“And it came to pass, when men began to multiply on the face of the earth, and daughters were born unto them, 2 That the sons of God saw the daughters of men that they were fair; and they took them wives of all which they chose.” (Genesis 6:1-2, KJV)

SONS OF GOD

“For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God.” (Romans 8:14, KJV) The Book of Enoch is non-canonical in our day and gives a view of conspiratorial, fallen angels as sons of God.

Christians are the sons and daughters of God today. Christianity is the only religion that follows both the old and new covenants through the fulfillment of Jesus the Christ. They practice monogamy and are directed to seek chaste wives.

THE LORD DECIDED TO DESTROY THE EARTH AND THE WICKED

“And the LORD said, My spirit shall not always strive with man, for that he also is flesh: yet his days shall be an hundred and twenty years.” (Genesis 6:3, KJV)

God was disappointed. Even though evil spirits lead men into sin and temptation, God was disappointed seemingly more so with flesh than fallen angels, who aren't specifically mentioned by that term in this context.

GIANTS LIVING UPON THE EARTH

“There were giants in the earth in those days; and also after that, when the sons of God came in unto the daughters of men, and they bare children to them, the same became mighty men which were of old, men of renown.” (Genesis 6:4, KJV)

There were giants in those days. We don't usually have many men above seven foot tall today. Most are usually between five and six-and-a-half feet tall. However, we do have midgets today, a form of an unusual DNA after-effect. When the fallen angels (sons of God) were attracted by the lovely women, they had sex with them and bore children who grew into giants. The children became “mighty” and were of great reputations (perhaps even “wicked men of great name”).

SUMMARY: MEN HAVE A RESPONSIBILITY TO CHOOSE A WIFE IN FAITHFULNESS

When men became complacent and decided to fulfill their lusts instead of maintain their steadfastness in righteousness and reverence, it displeased the Lord. Chronologically, the first time God thought of destroying the earth was after the unequal yoke of marriage. The appearance of the weakness of the flesh of man was evident among the sons of God (fallen angels).

Today, we must make it a goal to not get involved with the wicked deeds of men, but we also must beware of failing to look for mates within our own high standard of genetic and religious homogeneity. For instance, a white, righteous southern man in the USA should look for a white, righteous southern woman for the simple cultural reason that sweeping individualism is a cause of breaking God's design and institutions. We must be obligated to follow God's laws and fulfillment whether apostate government and our peers approve or not. A man should realize that humanitarianism is not a sufficient reason to “change” God's laws such as slavery and freedom vs total emancipation as the North did when they won the Civil War. Cultural differences bring problems about in marriage and so a man should make sure his wife has a good biblical background and is in agreement with the prospective husband as to following God's direction.

Chastity is an inspiration. It is a physical part of attractiveness and what is to be expected from a potential mate. The Old Testament required female virginity for marriage among the daughters of the Hebrew people (Ex. 22:16, Dt. 22:13-21, 28, 29). Parents and chaste children should be grateful to announce before others works of obedience in their testimonies. If a daughter has been defiled, she shouldn't be ashamed to mention her recovery and will to walk in singleness in order not to fornicate.

Beware. There are some so-called Christian women today that may be chaste themselves but condone the pseudo-theology of remarriage, which Jesus the Christ reproved. Such people are not really ready for marriage because what would stop them from committing sexual sin if they think there is no real lasting consequential disgrace in this life time and penalty for it!

All people have been derived through the genetics of Adam and Eve and the environment; Noah and his wife are the progenitors of us all today. (The earth has been at different distances from a system of light sources throughout its history, and the life span of mankind has deteriorated throughout the centuries. Modern technology has begun to help man live a little longer but the advance of the life span has been nothing like the centuries-old men of early times.)
